A comprehensive testing and signal generation tool for Eurorack modular synthesizer systems. This assembled unit provides multiple channels of signal generation and analysis capabilities in a compact black acrylic case. Settings reference included.

Key Features

  • 4 channels of signal generation: clock, gate, CV (LFO or stepped notes), and audio
  • 2 channels of signal analysis: audio signal frequency measurement (with display in Hz, Note units, or intervals), and gate/clock timing measurement
  • Black acrylic case
  • Settings reference included
  • Fully assembled and ready to use

Technical Overview

  • Clock signal generator with adjustable tempo, resolution, pulse duration, and MIDI control
  • Gate signal generator with period and pulse control, MIDI support for gate and trigger modes
  • Control Voltage generator with multiple waveforms (triangle, square, ramp up/down, sine, arpeggios, chromatic scale)
  • Audio generator with 4 waveforms (saw, square, triangle, sine) and envelope shaping
  • Audio input with frequency (Hz), note (MIDI + cents), and interval measurement capabilities
  • Gate input with period, frequency, tempo, duty cycle, and pulse duration display

Connectivity & Power

  • 12V AC external power supply required (2.1mm jack, wall-wart)
  • Red stripe of ribbon cable indicates -12V pins
  • Half-wave rectification design
  • Maximum recommended current draw: 200mA per supply rail

Clock Signal Generator

  • Tempo: adjustable in beats per minute
  • Resolution: number of clock ticks per beat (e.g., 120 BPM with 8 ticks/beat = 960 ticks/minute or 16 Hz)
  • Pulse: duration or duty cycle of clock pulse
  • MIDI: external computer or sequencer control

Gate Signal Generator

  • Period: signal period control
  • Pulse: duration or duty cycle of gate pulse
  • MIDI: external keyboard control with gate mode (signal is high when key is pressed) and trigger mode (pulse emitted on key press, irrespective of note duration)

Control Voltage Generator

  • Mode: triangle, square, ramp up, ramp down, sine, 1 octave arpeggio (alternates between 1V and 2V), 2 octave arpeggio (alternates between 1V and 3V), chromatic scale (goes from 1V to 2V by 1/12V increments)
  • Period: controls the period of the generated signal or sequence
  • Range: controls amplitude and polarity - bipolar signals (2V, 4V, 10V amplitude) or unipolar signals (1V, 2V, 5V amplitude); ignored in arpeggio/scale modes
  • MIDI: voltage control via MIDI message from external keyboard

Audio Generator

  • Shape: saw, square, triangle, sine wave
  • Frequency: fixed frequencies and musical notes
  • Envelope: gate mode (signal on when Gate In is high) and trigger mode (decreasing envelope retriggered on Gate In rising edges)
  • MIDI: keyboard playability

Audio Input

  • Frequency measurement (Hz)
  • Note and detuning (MIDI standard + cents)
  • Interval measurement in cents (1 octave = 1200 cents) between current and previous stable notes

Gate Input

  • First line: period, frequency, and tempo of incoming signal
  • Second line: duty cycle or positive edge duration
  • Gate Input LED blinks with input signal
